A bustling pedestrian high street offering a host of famous shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs. Canterbury is less than 1 mile in diameter and thus all the visitor attractions can be reached on foot. Visit the Cathedral Roman Museum with its fascinating subterranean exhibition and original mosaic floors. The Canterbury Heritage Museum traces the history of the city from Roman times to the present day. The Canterbury Tales Visitor Attraction is an exhibition where you can experience the sights, sounds and smells of Medieval England.

There are large formal and informal gardens in which to escape the bustle of the high street.

The Westgate Gardens with its much praised floral displays, through which you can enjoy a punt trip on the river Stour.

The Dane John Gardens offers a ready built fountain, bandstand and children's maze - both nestle within a busy city.

After dark there is still plenty to see in Canterbury.

The Marlowe Theatre plays host to many pre and post West End shows. The wine bars and pavement cafes entice you, and if you still have the energy you can visit Canterbury's busy nightclubs.
